Drivers (WIP)

TODO: Describe the system drivers and how to configure and monitor them.

Drivers are one of our supported domains for the SENSE Backup and Restore functionality.

Administrators can click the Download Driver Archive and Import Driver Archive buttons at the top of the driver table to export or import driver configurations in standard JSON. These operations require system administrator permissions. For an existing driver identified by its topologyUri, an import applies the archived driverEjbPath, owner, locked/restricted flags, and present properties. Otherwise, it creates a new driver in the UNPLUGGED state.

  • An absent imported property does not remove the existing property.
  • Runtime and health fields are intentionally omitted from archives, so an archive is not a snapshot of the live driver state.
  • Take care when importing configuration for a plugged or disabled driver and inspect newly created drivers before plugging them.

Driver archives may contain credentials. Store them in restricted, encrypted-at-rest locations and use approved secure transfer and deletion practices. For further details on the larger SENSE Backup and Restore feature, see System Backup and Restore.
